Basically an adult baby grow - but a lot cooler.

Happy Tuesday! I always think Tuesdays are so much more difficult to get through than Mondays. I hope you are all well and had a good weekend! What did you get up to?

This blog post is all about an amazing wardrobe staple which has been a fashion statement once before and has made a comeback, and I am so here for it - it is the boiler suit. A lot of the time I take inspiration from past fashions, looking to musicians and models from the 60's through to the 80's for styling ideas. I adore clothes from past eras, so when I see that a particular item or trend is coming back into fashion it really does excite me. Often, when I buy a new item, my mum will comment that she had something just like it when she was my age, does anyone else's mum do this? I think its so funny that trends roll back around and become relevant again years and years later. I just wish she would have kept it all so I could have it now when its back in trend!

Now, I don't know where you stand on the boiler suit, but I am obsessed. Yes maybe it does have a slight essence of Ghostbuster-meets-mechanic ( in fact as I was leaving to take these pictures my dad said "are you going out as GI-Joe" - ha ha very funny) - But with the right styling the boiler suit can be the sassiest and most versatile piece in your wardrobe (trust me)

The one I'm wearing in this post is from Nasty Gal. I have been a huge fan of this brand for a long time, their items are so cool and edgy but always on trend, as well as being really fairly priced. I actually didn't come across this piece myself - I was on a night out about a month ago and I saw a girl in this jumpsuit and she looked amazing! It was right up my street so obviously I had to find out where it was from and grab it for myself.

It is such a gorgeous khaki green shade, perfect for the upcoming autumnal months. I love the military style pockets and the zip up front, as well as the 70s style collar. It also has slits up the front of each leg which I think is a really interesting detail. Its an absolutely gorgeous piece and I'm so in love with it. It was also only £22 - it's actually one of the cheapest boiler suits I've seen on the high street which made it even better. I do have my eye on a few others though - this one from Stradivarius, this gorgeous pink one from Asos and this beautiful red shade from Bershka.

It's also such an easy piece to wear, as well as being ridiculously comfy, which is always a bonus right? It is a piece that can be so easily dressed up or down - during both Copenhagen and New York fashion week I saw the boiler suit styled in various different ways. If you're looking to dress up this piece, it will look amazing with a pair of heels, a clutch bag and some statement jewellery for an easy but eye-catching look! For work, simply zip/button up the front and wear a pair of boots for a smart office look. And when it gets a bit colder I will definitely be wearing this with some chunky ankle boots, and layering a long sleeved turtle-neck underneath. I did say that it's a versatile item!

Here I have styled it for an off-duty everyday look. I've kept it really casual and relaxed but still stylish and cool. I've teamed the boiler suit with my new Adidas samba rose trainers, I absolutely adore this quirky twist on a classic trainer. They are perfect for the current chunky trainer trend with their gum sole and I'm hoping they'll be sturdy trainer for the upcoming winter months

And to finish the outfit off I chose this beautiful new bag I picked up recently from Bershka on Asos, the check pattern means it is perfect for the new season. Yep of course - checks have made their annual return for another Autumn/Winter season - not that I'm complaining, give it a few weeks and my wardrobe will be full of checks. I was so drawn to this bag, I just love the different shades of blue and green in this bag which also has some contrasting pink running through it which works so well. It's also a really good sized bag which fits a lot in - sorry, I'm a sucker for practicality.

So there you have it, an easy, cool, retro item that you need in your AW18 wardrobe!
