Hi and happy Thursday! It's nearly the weekend and I cannot wait, this week feels like it's gone on forever don't you think? I'm off to see Arctic monkeys this Friday for the 3rd time this year and I'm so buzzing for it - is anyone else going?

I was v rubbish over the summer with creating content for my blog, but I'm determined to be a lot more consistent. And I have to say I'm really excited because I have some amazing outfits to share with you in the next few posts (if I do say so myself) including this one! So I'll hope you'll stick around for a read.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned before in my posts but I actually have a full time job working in a bank, which means the dress code is 'office wear'. I usually just rotate the same few outfits, and honestly, they are not interesting in the slightest - they're simple and easy and business-y. I find with work wear that it doesn't give me the opportunity to dress for my personality. So when it comes to the weekend I love to buy pieces that excite me and create outfits that are bold and a lot more 'me'.

And I don't think you could get more me than these trousers! Firstly yellow is my favourite colour, secondly, who doesn't love animal print? and the finishing touch - they're flares! It was basically a match made in trouser heaven. I actually saw these a while ago on the Topshop website but I restrained myself from buying them because I was trying to be sensible (clearly that didn't go to plan lol) but I just could not resist, and I definitely don't regret it. I have to admit I turned quite a few heads whilst making my way through Piccadilly train station when I wore these, whether it was in a good or bad way I don't know, but I also don't care, because I felt good. Yellow is such a bold colour, you are definitely not blending in to any crowd if you wear these trousers, but there is nothing wrong with standing out. But if its a little too out there for you, this pair from Topshop are more neutral.

I am sucker for a pair of flares, they are definitely my favourite style of trouser. I think that they're such an easy piece to style but so much more interesting than a pair of jeans. A pair of black flares should be a staple in everyone's wardrobe, I just love the 70s feel that they give to every outfit. The high waist, figure hugging shape of these trousers is so flattering, creating curves in all the right places. And for you shorter gals out there flares are perfect if you want to create a leg lengthening illusion!

Animal print never seems to go out of style, it rears its head with every season that comes and this year is no exception, with head-to-toe animal print all over the catwalks it seems to be more popular than ever. I'm certainly not complaining. I'm absolutely loving snake print recently. I think its such a beautiful print and it is so easy to incorporate it into your wardrobe. If you want to be a bit more subtle you can always add into your outfit with a snake skin bag or a gorgeous pair of boots. Or you can go all out like I have with these trousers - I've seen so many gorgeous co-ords and jumpsuits in beautiful snake prints. (Click the links for some of my fav pieces)

If you follow me on insta you will have seen that I wore this outfit for a night out at Menagerie in Manchester (it was faaaancy) I kept the styling simple and I felt like white would really make the yellow and black of the trousers stand out even more. I chose a boxy white t shirt and tied it at the front to make it a crop, showing off a little bit of midriff and making sure the ring pull detail on the flares could be seen. I wanted to continue the 70s silhouette that the flares give to the outfit so I paired them with my chunky white heeled boots (which were an absolute bargain from Primark) and with my new fringe I was definitely getting alllll the 70s feels.

I got so many compliments on these trousers especially, but I also had a lot of people saying how they "could never wear something like that" even though they wish they could. These comments really struck me. A few years ago I lacked confidence, I found that I would always buy items and then never be brave enough to wear them for fear it would look "too much". I have changed so much in this sense and I am so much happier for it. But it really upsets me that anyone can feel as though there are certain items or styles of clothing they can't wear. I don't believe that there is anything that anyone, no matter their age, shape, height or skin colour or whatever, should or shouldn't wear. If you look at an item and think it's beautiful, then buy it and wear it! We should never be worried about what other people think of our fashion choices, if it makes you feel fabulous then who cares what anyone else thinks!? Of course the easiest and most comfortable thing to do is to stick to what you know, but break out of your comfort zone just once and try something you "don't think you can wear" and you could surprise yourself and feel truly amazing.

I would love it if anyone reading this who feels a similar way could go out and choose one item which they have seen that they absolutely adored, but didn't buy, because for some reason they didn't think they could wear it. Let me know if you do I would love to hear from you.
