my new found love for the midi skirt

Hi! and welcome back to my blog. I was BUZZING to see how many people actually had a read of my first post - I really couldn't believe it! I honestly appreciate people being interested so so much and the response from my last post has definitely made me feel more excited to carry on, and has subsided the nerves (a little) which is fab.

I was hoping do a post at the same time every week and try and get a little bit of consistency going - but life gets in the way - trying to organise time to take pics and find time to write up a post is tricky when you have a full time job but you also want to go to the gym and you have plans and you obviously have to leave an hour free for love island (sorry but I love it) so I will probably just be throwing posts out whenever they are ready and whenever I've found the time ha!

So onto the outfit - I wore this outfit the other weekend at Thorpe Park, and although it probably wasn't the most practical for a theme park as I was clambering in and out of rides all day, I felt really good in it.
I definitely have a new found love for midi skirts - I've bought 3 recently after never owning one before! I always thought that this style of skirt wouldn't suit me - I thought it wouldn't flatter my figure as I don't have curves - but I genuinely think this skirt in particular will flatter any body shape! This year especially I've started to be a lot more confident with what I wear, and I've started to not give a shit about what other people might think and just dress for me. If like something I wear it. And I think this confidence is what brought me to try a midi skirt. I absolutely love the style now, it's so easy to dress them up or down and they are the comfiest addition to your wardrobe for summer. I can definitely see myself investing in a few more.

The skirt I'm wearing is Pull&Bear which I bought on Asos, I am loving Pull&Bear at the moment, they've been bringing out such gorgeous pieces recently and it's all so reasonably priced - this skirt was so affordable and is really good quality. I was drawn to this skirt because I loved the split in the thigh and the wrap over detail which makes the stripes almost asymmetrical. My favourite thing about this skirt is how versatile it is - Since I bought it I have dressed it down, like in these pictures. I have worn it with Doc Marten boots & a black crop top for a festival and I'm planning to wear it with sandals and a cute white halter neck on my holiday in a few weeks.

I styled the skirt with two of the most worn pieces in my wardrobe, this sassy belt from Topshop (last year) and my trusty hi-top converse. I wear this belt CONSTANTLY, it goes with everything - I would urge anyone and everyone to get yourself a similar one because it is just fab. The eyelets mean you can wear it on your hips or your waist as it is so easily adjustable, and it is basically just the perfect finishing touch to every outfit. And my converse - I've only had these a matter of months and you can already see how much I've worn them. I've always owned converse and I think I always will as they are just the easiest pair of shoes to style (and they are comfy AF.)

Now my t-shirt, I'm not actually 100% sure where this is from as it was a secret Santa present, but I know there are loads similar on Ebay and Depop. If you can't tell properly on the pictures, it's a David Attenborough t-shirt (amazing I know) I am a HUGE Attenborough fan so this t-shirt is definitely a fave of mine. I love a printed tee and this style is so much fun. I have worn this t shirt so much simply because it is such an easy piece to style - a black printed tee goes with pretty much everything - trust me. Vintage finds are so good because a lot of the time they allow you to be a bit more original, you know that not everyone else is going to be wearing it. My backpack was a vintage find from Blue Rinse in Manchester - which is such a fab shop if you're ever passing you really should check it out.
